You may have only recently discovered our club and shooting range but we have a long history.
Back in 1941, the club was started at the old Scarbrough Barracks in Balby, Doncaster as part of the Home Guard movement. As the Territorial Army took over the barracks the range became unavailable for use and so some members travelled to Cadeby and looked for a possible site for a range, they found one right next to the old mink farm and so the club moved and began its story in Cadeby in the early 1970's. Until recently the club was still called Balby Rifle and Revolver Club and then in 2024 the present committee finally made the decision to change the name to Cadeby Rifle and Revolver Club.
WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER.
Over the years the club has gone from strength to strength. We are a Home Office Approved Full Bore club, associated with the NSRA and we currently have a 25 metre range and a 50 metre range too.
If you want target shooting or if you just want to plink, we have many members that enjoy both. At the club you will find people who enjoy various disciplines, from Air Rifle and Air Pistol, Rim-fire Rifle and Pistol, Full-bore Rifle, Black Powder Muzzle loading Rifles and Pistols (all still legal) and the club has future plans to introduce Target Shotgun.
So if any of these activities or events takes your fancy then make an appointment and come see us and have a look at all we have to offer.
Safety is everyone's responsibility on a shooting range , so if you're unsure about any of the rules, you can ask a Range Officer or committee member.
For further information on the Club's Range Rules go to the "Downloads" section.
Please contact us at secretary@cadebyrifleandrevolverclub.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
As a club we welcome complete beginners, so an FAC is not required. Once you are a full member and have tried the selection of firearms that we have available, many shooters then go on to get their own firearms for which an FAC is required.
We have a wealth of knowledge and experience at the club and you’ll be sure to find someone to help get you started. Alternatively, each individual Police Force have their own dedicated Firearm Enquiry Team (FET) with an associated website, showing the procedure and what is required..
Absolutely not, and this applies even if you are a current firearms certificate holder (FAC). The UK has some of the toughest gun laws in the world and as a consequence there are only two ways to shoot at the club. Firstly, you can only shoot at the club after attending an initial induction and then subsequently gaining probationary membership. Alternatively you can shoot at the club as a personal guest of a full member.
The club holds several "Guest Days" each year where you can register to come and experience a "taster" of what it is like to shoot different firearms. For dates for future events check out our calendar.
In order to become a member of the club you will need to complete an application form which can be found in our "Downloads" section. You will also need to make an appointment with the club Secretary who will help you progress your application.
Before a child can shoot at the range they must be at least 8yrs of age, be accompanied by an adult, and become a member of the club.
We require anyone shooting at the range to be able to physically handle their gun without assistance, to be able to reach the bench, to be aware of the need for attention to safety and to be able to understand and follow the rules of the range at all times.
Anyone attending the range must not behave in a manner that could be distracting to other shooters.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
